I’m Kimberly Carter!

Eleven 17 was the day my family became what it now is… a perfectly imperfect family of four. November 17th was the day I adopted my daughter out of the ashes of the foster care system, revealing to me in a powerful way that beauty is present even in the darkest of places.

I’ve had a true love for my camera for 10 years (beginning with my university photography courses), but it’s been the seasons of hunting for light amongst darkness, connection amongst brokenness, and beauty amongst ashes that I’ve uncovered a profound desire to capture life unfolding; not only in my personal life, but all around me.
